By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau   The Zamfara State Governor elect, Dr, Dauda Lawal Dare has has said  that security of lives and properties will be the top most priority of his incoming administration. Dauda Dare made the  disclosure today during his first  press conference at his Gusau residence after the collection of his certificate of Return from the INEC office. According to him, nothing whatsoever can move in the absence of peace, pointing out that the agricultural activities that usually be the main occupation of the people has dwindled drastically due to the effects of banditry. Zamfara Governor Elect, Legislators Elect, Recieve Certificate Of Return

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau   Zamfara State Governor-elect Dauda Lawal and his Deputy- elect Mallam- Mani Mallam- Muni, have today received their certificate of return from the state Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, in the State capital Gusau. The commission also presented certificate of return to 24 State legislators-elect, comprising of 17 members from PDP platform, and seven from the APC platform. The Governor- elect however, used the occasion to thank the electorates for thier poll commitment, and gave them assurance that thier efforts would not be in vain as "my administration will bring about positive changes and place the State on the relevant path of development. He then urges the people to take advantage of the Holy month of Ramadan to pray for the incoming administration to succeed in bringing about the desired development to the State. By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau Former Governor of Zamfara state, and Senator elect for Zamfara west  senatorial district Hon Abdul Aziz Yari Abubakar has today launched the distribution of 240 Trucks of assorted grains to the people of the state for Ramadan fast. The items to be distributed today include Rice, Guinea Corn, Maize, Millet and Sugar, among others   Addressing thousands of APC supporters during the distribution exercise in Talata-Mafara, Yari said, each of the 14 local government areas would get 10 trucks of the commodity. He further explained that, the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) will get 32 trucks, orphans 12 trucks, while other organizations would get 10 trucks. By Gambo Abubakar Kaduna The Church of Christ Evangelical And Life Intercessory Ministry, Sabon Tasha Kaduna State, has doled out bags of food grains to over 1000 less priviledged Muslims ahead of the 30-day fasting for the month of Ramadan. Distributing the items at Kano road central mosque  kaduna on Wednesday morning , the general overseer of the church pastor Yohanna Buru, said the gesture became necessary as the holy month is coming around when there is high cost of living amids of naira notes scarcity and hike of fuel across the country.  While stressing that the church cannot forget the annual contributions by a  Muslim woman Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani for sharing bags of rice, cash and new clothes for the church widows and orphans during Christmas, new year' and easter celebrations.  According to him, Last year, the church doled out bags of rice, maize and other food items to less priviledged  Muslims in over 5 states, to enable them to participa...

Zamfara State Government Imposes Statewide Curfew From 8 pm To 6am

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau The Zamfara state government has today imposed statewide curfew from 8 pm to 6 am till peace is restored.  This was contained in a statement signed by Hon, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, Information Commissioner of the state, and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital. According to the statement, the government of Zamfara state has noticed with dismay, the wanton destruction and vandalisation of government and public property and assets and several innocent citizens are being inflicted with various degrees of injuries in the name of celebration of yesterday's declaration of Governorship election results. Reports available to the government indicate that lives were lost, houses and personal effects destroyed and shops were burgled. To guard against these acts, government finds it  imperative to impose statewide curfew from 8 pm to 6am until peace is restored. Security agencies are therefore directed to ensure compliance.

Dauda made this known to newsmen at his first broadcast to the people of Zamfara state, shortly after declaring him as a winner under Peoples Democratic Party PDP, by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the just concluded governorship election. Commandant MB Muazu and the Commissioner of Police, Yusuf kolo were at the State Stadium which housed about Seven polling Units at Sabon Garri ward of Gusau local Government Area in response to  distress calls and to ensure a hitch free and smooth conduct of the elections. The duo were able to restore normalcy in troubled units and they  also ensured that voting took place without fear and intimidation. The  State Commandant, Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu has displayed in high volume of collaborations with other sister agencies in order to achieve smooth conduct and hitch free elections in Zamfara State. Matawalle Casts His Vote, Expreses Confidence On Winning Election
