Tsafe Development Forum Appeals For An Urgent Support To The Victims Of Bandits Attacks In Chediya Ward

 The Tsafe Local Government Development Forum has called on the philanthropists in Tsafe, Zamfara and Nigeria at large to urgently assist the victims of bandits attacks in Chediya Ward of  Tsafe local government in Zamfara state.

 The victims who are now taking shelter in various Internal Displace Persons (IDPs) camps within Tsafe and its environs, were in need of foodstuffs, shelter and medication.

The appeal was contained in a  statement signed and made it available to newsmen, by the forum's publicity secretary, Nasuru Mudi.

  According to Nasuru Mudi, 'a philanthropist and dedicated elder stateswoman of Tsafe Local Government, Hajiya Hannatu Ali-Akilu, has responded swiftly to the recent bandit attack on Chediya, a village located about 18 kilometers from Tsafe. 

Hajiya Hannatu Ali-Akilu, with great compassion, has taken the lead and raised ₦ 1,855,000 in less than 24 hours. Most of these generous donations came from her family members, relatives, and close friends.

Also, the Tsafe Local Government Humanitarian Coordinator has directed urgent support to meet the immediate needs of the victims, particularly food, as women and children are among those affected. 

 In this tragic incident, the bandits reportedly killed, kidnapped, and burnt many homes, leaving the entire community in devastation.

  "I call on all the people to contribute and assist these Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as much as we can. Based on our assessment, Chediya Ward has a population of over 3,000 people, and currently more than 2,000 have fled for safety, many are now taking temporary shelter in various locations including.

Ibrahim S. Fawa's residence, Sabon Fegin Baza, Yandoton Daji, and shiyar Nomau, among others.

 "In our ongoing efforts to support them, we need more donations, especially to provide food and basic survival needs until further intervention can be made or the security situation improves."
