According to him, this years' Africa Month is celebrated under the theme: “Deepening the AU Vision for Unity for Africa through Prosperity, Peace and Modernity for a Better Africa and a Better World.”
He emphasized the importance of addressing the root causes of the internal and external conflicts in Africa; beyond the traditional response, which only tackled the symptoms, adding that only development would create the capacities that will help African countries to overcome the absence of peace and insecurity challenges, which have deep historical roots.
Mal. Ibrahima equally highlights on the need to continue cultivate and celebrate the strides made by the AU and Africa broadly in harnessing the economic, human, cultural and natural treasures in the continent.
He called for massive trees planting campaigns across all the black nations in Africa in order to combat desertification, deforestation, climate change and all forms of environmental degradation in the region.
While encouraging African Union to fight against the spread of banditry, kidnapping and terrorism that has negativity affected the peace and stability in West Africa.
The network equally urged humanitarian NGOs to assist all Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at various locations with vocational training in order to be self-employed after vacating the camps.
The network further appealed to all relevant, civil society organizations in Nigeria and also calling on the Kaduna Peace Commission to bring an end to the farmers and herders conflicts as the case of Kaduna State, most especially in west Africa region that have been troubled by the myriads of violence among the groups.
