Norhern Group Kicks Against APC Senate President Zoning, Endorses AA Yari.

The Northern Consensus Movement (NCM) have endorsed the former Zamfara State Governor also the Senator elect, representing Zamfara west  senatorial zone, Dr Abdulazeez Yari Abubakar (Shatiman Mafara) as the 10th Senate president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


   The endorsement was contained in a statement signed by the national president of the Union Alhaji Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, during  a press conference organised by the association, which was recently held at Arewa House  Kaduna, and made available to newsmen.


  According to the  president, "The zoning of principal officers for the 10th national assembly by all progressive Congress (APC) national working committee (NWC) is against the wishes of the majority of Nigerians  that cast their winning votes to the party presidential candidate Bola Ahmad Tinubu in the just concluded 2023 general elections.


 "With over five million five hundred thousand  votes out of over eight million seven hundred thousand winning votes, to considered the contributions made by the zones is very Paramount not imposition of individual minority votes on the majority for selfish interest of the few. He added.


 He noted that, "For clarity, fairness and justice to the entire north which produced the highest winning votes, there is  need to consider and allow the regime to enjoy the democratic process, ethics and principles to prevail in the cause of electing principal for the 10th assembly.


  Awwal also stressed that, " The NCM has always spoken on behalf of the majority of  northerners and resolved to considered anointing, "and we are in support of his excellency Abdul,'azeez Yari Abubakar as 10th Senate president being a political mentor in the regime whom his  experience, commitment, are capable and competent to fit  the cap for the Senate leadership.
