Siphoning Of Water Treatment Chemicals:- Zamfara NSCDC Vows To Bring To Justice Who Ever Is Involved

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Zamfara State Command, Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu has assured the press and the good people of Zamfara State of the resolve of the Corps to bring to justice whosever is involved in the on going case of arrested   70 drums of Calcium Hydrochloride loaded in a Canter Truck siphoned from RUWATSA.

RUWATSA an agency that is saddled with the responsibility of providing water treatment chemicals for cholera and other water borne diseases in the  affected areas of Zamfara State.

Speaking in a press briefing at the NSCDC Zamfara State Command Headquarters Gusau on the 18th May 2023,

Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu said that these drums of chemicals which worth is 85000 Naira each  supplied by UNICEF was siphoned from the said agency (RUWATSA) on the 3rd May 2023 by some mischievous elements and they were intercepted by the officers and men of the Corps on stop and search.

The Zamfara State Command NSCDC Boss posits that all concerned and connected to this saga have been invited and grilled accordingly and that so far, 9 suspects have been arrested while three are still at large.

Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu however said that the upper Sharia Court in Samaru area of Gusau has issued  warrants of arrest and court order  against the three Suspects at large to be  arrested and presented in court on or before 24th May 2023.

He therefore reiterated that the Corps will ensure a complete and holistic prosecution of the case as the case is already in court.

He therefore solicited for the co-operation of the press in ensuring that this case is well handled.

The  State Commandant, Muhammad Bello Muazu also enjoined the general public to remain calm as the Corps will do all within its poureview not to jeopardize the investigation process. He posits that the Corps is known for intergrity and ethical practices and these can not be compromised in any way.
