Dauda Lawal To Resuscitate Education, Other Critical Sectors Affecting Zamfara

The Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal has reiterated his commitment, resilience, and dedication to resuscitating the State economy as well as critical sectors such as Education, Water supply, and Women and Youth empowerment as part of his Administration’s six (6) smart agenda.
Governor Lawal stated this at the conference Hall of Government House Gusau, while receiving the State Working Committee of the PDP who paid him a Salah homage on Friday.
He said more than at any other time in the past, the state is in dire need of dedication and commitment to duty to fast-track the much-needed growth and development by relevant stakeholders in the state. He said “It took Allah’s intervention for the State to be reinstated back into the folds of major international donor agencies such as Bill and Melinda Gates as well as Dangote Foundation that have been assisting the less privileged States such as Zamfara, on areas of Malaria and Polio Eradication Programmes.
Governor Lawal announced his Administration’s readiness in embarking on massive reconstruction and rehabilitation of comatose primary and post-primary schools in the State through a foreign intervention program he sourced for the State in addition to the prompt and timely intervention of the State Government for the registration of SS3 Zamfara State indigenes to sit for WEAC and NECO Examinations that were exempted for the past three years.
The governor also called on party stalwarts to show understanding and support to his administration in its journey of the rescue mission, adding that the task ahead of him is enormous, with Security topping his administration’s agenda.
The Secretary of the PDP, Zamfara State chapter, Engineer Zingina Abdullahi Gusau said they were in the Government House on Sallah Homage to also rejoice with the Governor on his giant strides on Security and to applaud him for the swift payment of workers’ salary and pension arrears which have rekindled hope.
Engr Zingina Abdullahi said the Governor has made the ruling party in the State proud of his laudable efforts capable of changing the narratives of the State and urged the Governor as a matter of urgency to address the issue of Girl Child Education and Young Women that are roaming the streets in Gusau and other Local Government Areas of the State.
In a related development, also in the spirit of the Eid-el Kabir, Governor Dauda Lawal charged the Traditional Rulers in the State to intensify prayers in their respective domains, seeking Allah’s intervention for the State to overcome its decade-old security challenges.
The governor made the assertion when he received the council of Emirs and Chiefs who were on a Sallah Homage, stressing that constant prayers and supplications are key to overcoming all unsurmountable problems on earth.
The governor assure the monarchs that his administration is determined to tackle the precarious security problem confronting the state.
Speaking Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Council and Emir of Gusau, His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Bello (OFR) commended the governor for his prompt response on sensitive issues such as security and payment of workers backlog salaries and pension of retired civil servants.
Sarkin Katsinan Gusau, while praying for Allah’s guidance and protection, urged the State Governor not to relent on his efforts in addressing holistically monumental challenges.
In a similar vein, the State Governor Dauda Lawal charged civil servants in the State to remain focused, dedicated, and loyal to the constituted authorities as enshrined in the civil service rules and regulations.
The governor gave the charge when he received on Sallah homage, permanent secretaries, and heads of MDA in Zamfara state.
Governor Dauda said his recent visit to some MDAs in the State showed that civil servants are not punctual to their duty posts, a situation that will not go down well with his administration.
While charging them to rededicate themselves for the task ahead, Governor Lawal also told the teaming Bureaucrats and technocrats that his Administration will soon rationalize and downsized MDAs in the State which conforms with his desire to run a slim Government in the state.
Zamfara State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Kabiru Gayari, reiterated civil servants’ loyalty to the present administration.
Governor Dauda Lawal ended the Sallah homage with the hosting of highly respected Islamic scholars under the leadership of Sheikh Umar Hassan Gusau.
While thanking the Islamic scholars for the visit, Governor Lawal told the clerics that they owed him a duty to always tell him the truth, as governance is all about being always honest
He said his desire to govern the State is to bring positive changes in terms of security, education, and water supply, as well as rejuvenating the State’s economy, among others.
Speaking at the opening session, the leader of the delegation Sheikh Umar Hassan Gusau told the Governor that they were in the Government House Gusau to formally congratulate him on his successful inauguration in office and to also rejoice with him in this season of sacrifice.
Sheikh Umar added that they also came to offer some religious advice to the governor, which forms part of their religious obligations
The Sallah homage was attended by the Deputy Governor, Mani Mallam Mummuni, Secretary to the State Government, Mallam Abubakar Nakwada Gusau, Chief of Staff, Hon. Mukhtar Muhammad Luggah, and others.
