Gov, Dauda Restructures, Reduces Ministries From 28 To 16

In a bid to realize the "Rescue Zamfara" mission of his administration, the executive governor of Zamfara State Dr Dauda Lawal has signed an executive order for the restructuring of the government ministries and agencies to reduce cost of governance and improve quality service delivery among others.

 The governor  who signed the order today, said the aim is to reduce the cost of governance as part of the mission agenda of his administration.

He noted that the restructuring will also affect other government departments, agencies as well as Parestatals with a view to ensuring effectiveness, functionality and avoid redundancy.

Governor Dauda Lawal affirmed that, People of proven integrity and hard work will be appointed to man the ministries for enhanced governance that will develop the state in all ramifications.

He added that the restructuring among other things will create more opportunities and provide more jobs for citizenry and solidify government operations.

The restructured ministries are;

1. Ministry of Agriculture

2. Ministry of Budget and Planning

3. Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry

4. Ministry of Education, Science and Technology

5. Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources

6. Ministry of Finance

7. Ministry of Health

8. Ministry of Information and Culture

9. Ministry of Justice

10. Ministry for Housing and Urban Development

11. Ministry for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs

12. Ministry for Religious Affairs

13. Ministry for Women Affairs and Social Development

14. Ministry of Works and Infrastructure

15. Ministry of Youth and Sports 

16. Ministry for internal Security and Home affairs

The governor therefore, urged good people of the state to support government policies and programmes as well as to pray for the state, present adminisration and for restoration peace and tranquility in the state.
