Norway foundation gives N750m Aids To 50 Zamfara Primary Schools

Fifty Selected primary schools in ten local government areas of Zamfara state will benefit from 750 million Naira educational aid  from a Norway foundation for Self Inclusive Learning and Skill for All (SILSA), a UNICEF programme.


UNICEF focal person in Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Muzamil Ibrahim made the pronouncement during a distribution of safety and security kits to benefiting schools for the first quarter in the state.


   A press release issued by the public relations officer of the board indicated that Zamfara State is among the selected states in Nigeria to benefit from  the gesture of the  Norway foundation.


The Norway Foundation is a body which  provides  support to  primary schools aimed at  curtailing the menace of  insecurity in the state and nation in general.


In his address,  the acting chairman, Zamfara State Universal Basic Education  Board who is also the Director Administration ,  Alhaji Aminu Kanoma, commended the effort of the Norway foundation for the good gesture and assured of  the board's readiness to ensure  proper utilisation and monitoring of the method best to make use of them.


He also called on  the benefitting  schools to use the materials judiciously and  pray for divine intervention in the restoration of peace and tranquility  in all nooks and crannies of  the state and country in general.
