NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau's Pre Season Football Tournament Kicks Off August 14 in Bauchi

The 2nd edition of the now annual  Ibrahim Gusau Pre  season  football tournament would kick off on August 14 in Bauchi, coordinator of the  event, Abba Huraira has disclosed .


He revealed to sports Writers in Kano, Thursday evening that , preparations  to host a spectacular  tournament have  reached an advanced stage .


Huraira added that , 12 clubs that  were   drawn from Nigeria's premier  league and National League will be on parade in Bauchi. 


He further explained that ,  clubs would be drawn from the premier league, adding that  clubs from the NNL category will make up the list of clubs that will   feature at the tourney .


Quizzed on the likely  improvements injected into  this year's  edition to distinct it  from the inaugural tournament , he said " we have worked hard to make sure , we have improvements .


Huraira further said " this is the second edition and we are not unaware of the importance to  advance on teams  participation in term of technical input from the players , coaches and even the quality of the ground of play.


" Gusau Pre Season is a tournament with a target to help promote the game and tune up the clubs ahead of the league, this mission is not lost as we plan, same with our mission , which is to create a platform for pre seasonal football tradition  in the country. We promise to improve tremendously in the tournament at this year's edition.  


Huraira applaud all football stakeholders that have invested their human resources, financial and moral contributions to bring the tournament to fruition.


He disclosed that eight  clubs  from the  premier league and   from NNL   will be on parade , adding 1 one selected team from Bauchi will be granted the chance to compete.


Our correspondent reports that the enlisted teams are scheduled to arrive Bauchi  14th  August , the kick off date is  15th,  the tourney ends  22 August
