Zamfara State Gets New Accountant General

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Ali-Akilu Mohammed Bungudu as the Accountant General of Zamfara State and Idris Shehu as the Deputy Accountant General. 

The appointment is contained in an official announcement on Tuesday, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada.  

A statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, stated that Ali-Akilu is a seasoned banker with many years of experience.  

He said: "The appointment of Ali-Akilu is in line with Governor Dauda Lawal’s commitment to source for the best hands in the rescue mission. 

"Bungudu is an accomplished banker with over 20 years of working experience in operations, marketing Public Sector, Govt Revenue Collection, Retail Banking, and international banking).

"Until his appointment, Ali-Akilu was leading the Nigerian Representative office of FBN Bank UK LTD and covering the Northern business office with oversight for Private Banking, Corporate Banking, and Institutional Banking. 


"Bungudu with a track record of consistent outstanding business 

development and high-quality service delivery while working within a different country

jurisdictions with multicultural and multilingual teams."
