SWAN president father's burial to hold on 13th October, appreciates Makarfi, Nimrod, Shehu Sani, Yerima, others for support

The remains of Pa Isaiah Boyi Ejimatswa, the father of President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr. Isaiah Kemje Benjamin will be laid to rest on Friday October 13, 2023.

A statement signed by the media aide to SWAN President, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, dated Monday October 9, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna, informed that the interment will take place at his country home at their family compound in Lando, Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to the statement,  there would be a service of songs and Candle Night at the family compound on Thursday October 12 by 5pm.

The following day, a funeral Service will take place at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kandi, Bassa LGA, by 10am, after which the interment will take place at the family compound, adding that the reception will take place immediately at the venue

Meanwhile, the SWAN President is extending appreciation to  Nigerians  from all parts of the country, for their prayers and support since the news of his father's demise broke.

He personally mentioned former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, Engineer Musa Nimrod, Senator Shehu Sani, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) President, Alhaji Yerima Shettima and all National Executive Committee (NEC) of SWAN, its states exco and members all over the country. 

He also appreciated Senator Abubakar Girei, Bishop Tinuoye, AG Haruna, MD ZL Global Alliance, MD Oma Life Rescue Foundation, Delta State Works Commissioner,   Honourable Charles Aniagwu, Chairman Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa.

Others are immediate past SWAN President, Sir  Honour Sirawoo, Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Ejidike, Chairman Benue State Football Association,  Barrister Paul Edeh, Commissioner of Sports Kaduna State, Professor Ben Gugong, among several others too many to mention, for showing their worries over the death of his father.

It would be recalled that Pa Isaiah passed on peacefully in his sleep after age related prolonged illness on Monday September  25, 2023 at the age of 87.

He is survived by his wife, children, grand children, great grand children, brothers and sisters, among others.
