By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau

No fewer than  sixty thousand Zamfara State civil servants have today  received 4000 bags of grains as palliatives from the state government to minimize the effect of fuel subsidy removal.

Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) comrade Sani Halliru made the disclosure  during the flag off of the distribution in Gusau,  saying that  the gesture was received from the state government as part of the distribution of the federal government palliatives sent to the state for distribution.

Comrade Sani Halliru who thanked governor Dauda Lawal for gesture said, they are still expecting the palliatives from the state government apart from that of the federal government which according to him the 4000 bags of grains that consists of 2000 bags of Rice and 2000 bags of Maize can not go round the over 60,000 workers of the state.

He also appealed to the workers to accept the little they get even though not all of them will be given due to the quantity the labour centers received.

Sani who spoke on behalf of the NLC and TUC noted that Workers in Ministries, Departments and Agencies; Local government staff, Primary teachers and health workers at the Primary health care are among the beneficiaries of the palliatives.

The distribution was through heads of various MDAs especially the Directors of Administration and those of Finance who have records of staff in their various offices.
