Kaduna NHIS Holds One-day Sensitisation Programme For Private Sectors

The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Kaduna State has organized a one-day awareness programme to sensitize the private sector on the need for them to be part of the ongoing scheme across the country.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen during the event held at Asaa Pyramid Hoteliers in Kaduna,the coordinator NHIS Kaduna, Malam Aminu Tanimu, disclosed that the program is meant to create an in-depth awareness to the general public based on the benefits of being registered under the NHIS program.
According to him, the purpose of ensuring they achieved their desired goal of having various business men and women, companies and individuals to registered with the agency.
"We are today committed to make sure that we sensitize the private sector and general public on the new law that enforced every citizens to engage in the program."
"There's lack of awareness for the people on activities of NHIS and alot of the participants are willing to join ."
The coordinator also noted that, the new act of NHIS made it mandatory on everyone, either you are a market woman, Okada rider or a farmer, its compulsory to register especially businessmen having a registered company, most present NHIS certificate for him to enjoy the government programs.
"We have a program for the vulnerables that is called basic high care provision fund which is a program by the federal government that 1% consolidated is being deducted and it was given to health and is taking care of the agents, children, women and the handicap all-over the country."
He further explained that, it's part of the benefits of registering with them with just N15000 naira registration fees, per person and having access to various health facilities including Cesarian Section (CS) for pregnant women and other treatment that ordinarily one will be expected to spend much within the year.
