Zamfara Gov, Presents Over 432 Billion As 2024 Budget

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has today presented the 2024 appropriation bill before the house of assembly to the tune of over four hundred and thirty two billion naira.(432,523,730).
Presenting the budget estimate titled "Rescue Budget" to the state Assembly, Dauda Lawal said that one hundred and thirteen billion, one hundred and thirty four million, seven hundred and thirty four thousand, is for recurrent expenditure which represents thirty nine point five percent.
Meanwhile, three hundred and five billion, three hundred and eighty nine million naira is for capital expenditure which represents sixty four point one percent of the budget.
Breaking down the appropriation bill, Governor Dauda said education, Security, Health and infrastructure have the highest allocation with a view to rescue the state from total collapse.
He explained that the budget will place specific focus on education including improvement of Schools adding that, Security Trust Fund was also innaugurated as well as recruitment of 4,300 community protection guard to support conventional Security agencies in the fight of all criminal activities.
According to the governor, all the ongoing projects would be completed in the year 2024 while new roads projects would also commence in Mallamawa to Bukuyum, Bukuyum to Zoma to Gumi, Maradun to Makera, Kwatarkwashi to Mada among others.
Earlier, the Speaker Zamfara State Assembly, Nasiru Ismaila Moriki who highlighted some of the achievements recorded by the present administration, and commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his vision and mission for the development of the State in his six points agenda.
Moriki also acknowledged the good working relationship between the executive and the legislature in the State, and assured of a speedy passage of the budget which now passed the second reading.
