Zamfara Lawaker Sheds More Lights On 2023 Supplementary Budget

Member representing Tsafe West at the Zamfara state House of Assembly, and chairman House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism, Honourable Amiru Ahmed Keta, has today sheds more light on the supplementary budget presented to the House by Zamfara state governor Dauda lawal, in an interview with newsmen in Gusau
Honourable Amiru said, the supplementary budget presented to them has already been approved by the honourable members, considering the fact that, the present government under governor Dauda Lawal has maped out some strategies that will bring succour to electorates in the state.
According to him, the past administration has left a lot of developmental projects that have direct bearing to the people of Zamfara state, and the budget they targeted cannot complete the abondoned projects.
He added that, governor Dauda Lawal deemed it necessary to send a supplementary budget of over N4b, because he cannot temper with Zamfara people money without approval from the Zamfara state House Of Assembly.
The Information committee chairman, disclosed that, during the past administration, there are so many contracts given and have not been executed, and now the cost of materials has risen, therefore more funds are needed to bridge the gap.
"Immediately the committee on budget presented to the House that supplementary budget, we sat and do the needful, that is first, second and third reading, and subsequently approved the said amount.
"The supplementary budget of over N4b is not much, considering fact that some other states that proposed up to N20b, as supplementary budget, but here in Zamfara is just a minor supplementary budget we treated at the state House of Assembly.
"State House Of Assembly is working hand in hand with the state executive council, in order to bring positive changes in the state.
"As you can see, our government has achieved a lot within eight month we are elected in to office, governor Dauda Lawal put much resources on education, example payment of WAEC, NECO Examination fees to the students, putting state of emergency on education among others.he stressed.
Honourable Keta further explained that the Zamfara state University Talata Mafara's case have been presented before the House of Assembly, and urgent measures have been taken to ensure that Zamfara has its own state university like other states in the federation.
The lawmaker make it clear that, construction of Gusau township roads are the one of it's kind, in the history of Zamfara state, saying that all people from the state are expected to pray for the success of this administration.
