Zamfara State govt vows to provide security in Tertiary institutions

The Zamfara state government has reiterated it's commitment to improve the security of the state.
The Commissioner Ministry for Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Tasiu Musa Shinkafi made the assertion when he received a delegation of National Association of Nigerian students, under the leadership of Comrade Pedro Chibuzo Obi and the Senate President of the Association, Comrade Ekundina Sequn Eluis in his office today.
The Commissioner who represented the state Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal, said the present administration has given security matters high priority.
This was contained in a statement signed by Suleman Aliyu, Information Officer Ministry for Youth and Sports Development, and made available to newsmen in Gusau.
According to the statement, the state government will focus on six sectors which include security, health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure for rapid development of the state.
He further said, administration was fully committed to the revival of education at all levels in order to move the state forward.
The Commissioner disclosed that the state government has a bond with all security agencies operating in the state to provide sustainable security on students' campuses in tertiary institutions.
He stated that over five hundred million naira was approved for the renovation and construction of additional structures at National Youth Service Corps orientation camp at Tsafe.
Shinkafi further stated that the state government was set to address current challenges bedeviling teeming youths, especially in the area of skills acquisition.
He said engaging youths in meaningful activities was part of Governor Lawal's agenda aimed at having a crime free society in the state.
In his remarks, the President of National Association of Nigeria Students Comrade Pedro Chibuzo Obi advised the state government to put more efforts to ensure immediate release of kidnapped FUG's students and provide more Security at the students' campuses in the state.
However, Comrade Obi appreciated the efforts of the state government of establishing Security Protection Guard in the state.
