CMCS, KSCMR HOLD 3 DAY SYMPOSIUM ON CHRISTIAN MUSLIM FOR MUTUAL COLLABORATION

The  co ordinator Kaduna centre for the study of Christian Muslim Relations, (KCSCMR), Venerable Joshua Mallam, has stressed that displacement of ignorance by political and religious elites is the root causes of Nigerian religious violence.

 "Using education today as a weapons in resolving the  violence as legacy that  exist to a long period of times."

  The clergyman  made this known, at a Three day symposium, titled "working together in God's world;" encouraging Christian Muslim mutual collaboration in Kaduna state northern Nigeria, organised by the Centre for Muslim and Christian Studies, Houston, (CMCS) held at Command Guest House in Kaduna.

 According to the Venerable, ignorance are the biggest problem in our society, ignorance also encourage the wrong perception in both political and religious teaching.

  Speaking with newsmen  at the symposium, the UN Peace Ambassador Alumni in Nigeria, Ambassador Dr Nuhu Umar, said the symposium came in the right time when the country is indire need of Christian Muslim mutual understanding, peace amd harmony.

 He urged the fellow  religious to adhere, respect and tolerate the others religion and belief for development of the nation.

 Also speaking at the event, the Researcher/Facilitator of CMCD in Kaduna, Reverend Martin's E. Adikwu, highlighted the importance of the symposium in encouraging Christian Muslim mutual relationship by building respect and seeking truth through dialogue.

  He however emphasized the theme of the center is for "working together in God's world.

 The Kaduna based Islamic clergy, Sheickh Halliru Maraya, urged the Muslim to emulate the exemplified live of prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

 " The religions and ethnic conflicts attributed by the politicians, urged youth to embraced ethnic and religions tolerance, and to disregard any kind of violence that can  disrupt the unity and development of our dear country."
