Zamfara Lawmaker Disburses Cash To 61 ABU Students

A member of Federal House of Representative, Abdulmalik Zubairu Zanna has disbursed N2.4 million to 61 undergraduate students of Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria from his constituency.

Zubairu Zanna a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in Zamfara State.

Speaking at the cash disbursement exercise to the beneficiaries in Bungudu, Zubairu said that the gesture was part of his intervention to support education in the constituency.

The lawmaker who was represented by his Legislative Assistant, Jamilu Umar, said the 61 beneficiaries were undergraduate students studying various courses in ABU Zaria.

“This is part of the ongoing cash disbursement exercise by the lawmaker to the students who are indegines of Bungudu and Maru LGAs studying at various universities and other tertiary institutions.

“Each of the 61 students from ABU, Zaria are to receive N40,000 making the total of N2.442,” he said.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chairman of Bungudu/Maru Students’ Association ABU, Zaria Chapter, Awwal Ishaq commended the lawmaker for his initiative to support education.

“On behalf of students from Bungudu and Maru LGAs studying in ABU we extend our gratitude to the lawmaker for his kind gesture, we pray for his success.

“This will reduce the economic hardship being faced by the students in paying their school fees,”  Ishaq said.

Tsafe Development Forum Appeals For An Urgent Support To The Victims Of Bandits Attacks In Chediya Ward

  By Gambo Abubakar Kaduna  The Tsafe Local Government Development Forum has called on the philanthropists in Tsafe, Zamfara and Nigeria at large to urgently assist the victims of bandits attacks in Chediya Ward of  Tsafe local government in Zamfara state.  The victims who are now taking shelter in various Internal Displace Persons (IDPs) camps within Tsafe and its environs, were in need of foodstuffs, shelter and medication.
