EMIR OF ZURU MOURNS 10th YEARS ANNIVERSARY OF LATE CHIEF NATHANIEL ZOME

The Emir of Zuru HIS Royal Highness retired Major Mohammadu Sani Sami, has called on the people of the emirate to emulate the characters, patriotism and commitment of late first Sarkin Yakin Zuru, Nathaniel Zome, towards the development of Zuru communities, Kebbi state and Nigeria at large.

 The Emir made the calls through his representative, the former Senator Alhaji Bala Ibn Na Allah, at the inauguration ceremony of Kaduna Chapter of Zuru Emirate Development Society (ZEDS).

And Tenth year memorial lecture in honor of late Nathaniel Zome, the first Sarki Yakin Zuru, organised by the association, which recently held at Arewa House in Kaduna.

 According to the Emir, "the lecture titled;" the Man, Character, Philosophy and Footprint of Service to Humanity, is important for the younger once in order to copy his compendium tributes.

  "He was not just a leader, but a rare gem in the realm of public service, which embodied the values of honesty, incorruptibility, and unwavering commitment to the peoples of Zuru."

 The retired Army  major further described first Sarkin Yakin Zuru, as the one who leaves behind an enduring legacy, incorruptibility, honesty and passionate pursuit of Justice.

 In his address, the Senator representing Kebbi South Federal Constuency, Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, pledged the peoples of the emirate to shun anything that would distabilised the unity of Zuruland enshrined from the founding father's.

 He also tasked them to embraced the sense of togetherness in respective of their religions, family backgrounds. stressing that politics are the major factor in division of any society.

 "I'm calling to the people  of Zuru land not allow politics to made us a divised society, 'we should all put our efforts quarter to the development of the land."

   Speaking during the paper presentation, Professor Shehu Abdullahi, said "Mr Nathaniel Zome is an extra ordinary human being endowed with exceptional brilliance and extra ordinary courage of intent to change the course of history.

He however noted that, some of the tribute of Mr Nathaniel,is the establishment of educational scholarship, provide health care services, supported infrastructural development and promoted cultural preservation initiatives among others.

 The late former first Sarkin Yakin Zuru, was the Vice Chairman Common Wealth Conference of Postal Administration, (1992-1993),and Chairman Conference of Directors of ECOWAS Post (1992-1993).
