GOV.. UBA SANI VOWS TO SUSTAIN THE LEGACIES OF GANI FAWEHINMI. AND BALARABE MUSA

The Kaduna state governor Mallam Uba Sani has pledged to sustain the legacies of Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, by making incremental changes to the people and put smiles on the faces of poor, vulnerable and weak in the society.

 Governor Uba Sani made the promised while addressing the members of people with disability, Vulnerables and youths, and the general public, in an 86th Chief Gani Fawehinmi Posthumous Birthday Celebration, and Mallam Abdilkadir Balarabe Musa Immortalization, held at Umaru Musa Yar adua Hall Muryal Square in Kaduna.

  The governor however expressed that, "I'm extremely delighted to be in the midst of fellows comrades and colleagues in human rights and pro-democracy struggles. 

 "This is one reunion I deeply cherish. We must sustain such fora in order to continually reflect on the past struggles, critically look at current and emerging issues, and chart the pathway to a better future for the country."

  "We have to remember and honoured two icons who devoted their lives to the struggle for social justice. Chief Gani Fawehinmi used the instrumentality of the law to fight for social justice, while Alhaji Balarabe Musa deployed his mobilizational skills to rally the masses to take their destiny in their own hands."

   He also noted that, "i honed my political skills in the "furnace" of the struggle for the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria. I was a civil rights activist for so many years, after graduating.

 "I was the National Vice Chairman (North West) of the Campaign for Democracy (CD), which was then headed by Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti, of blessed memory. Later on we decided to form a coalition of opposition groups against military rule. And  formed the Joint Action Committee of Nigeria, JACON, which was headed by the legendary Chief Gani Fawehinmi, also of blessed memory. In JACON, I became ad the Deputy National Chairman, North."

   He however sressed that, "As a  governor, I see myself as a representative of the human rights and pro-democracy movement. We have running an inclusive, pro - people government committed to bringing succour to the poor, vulnerable and underserved in Kaduna State. 

 While addressing the news men in Kaduna, the general secretary national of Textile, Germent and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, (NVTGWN), Issa Obalowu Aremu MNI, said " I'm here in Kaduna to celebrate the two icons of democracy whose stood for integrity, incorruptibility and for the best of value to  government.

The vice president of the all Global Union, also explained that, in  Nigeria and Africa, we having experience poor leadership, we really having the successful leaders what's need is to recognized them.

  "The lesson is that, is need for today to copy the virture of ingovernace that can be celebrated and made impacts to the society.and do what's right for the interest of the peoples."

 Earlier in his address, the Director general, Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Foundation,  Dr Yunusa Tanko, thanked Kaduna people who came in mass to support  the programme.

 He however noted that, late Abdulkadir Balarabe let only Two Thousand and Seven Hundred Naira in his account, he also described the as gesture as vanity in disvanity; that's to spent or gives out ever he have to the poor and vulnerable in the society.
