Zamfara Lawmaker Distributes Trucks Of Fertilizer, Rice, Maize Seedlings To Farmers

Senator representing Zamfara North Federal Constituency, Sahabi Ya'u Kaura has today flags off the distribution of four Trucks of fertilizer and other farm inputs to the farmers of his constituency.

Other farm inputs distributed include 400 cartons of liquid fertilizer, 1,500 bags of 10kg seeds of maize, 250 high breed rice and 250, spraying machines among others.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the flagging off ceremony, in Kaura Namoda local government of Zamfara state, Senator Sahabi Ya'u Kaura, who is representing Kaura Namoda, Zurmi, Shinkafi and Birnin Magaji local government at the national assembly said, he has no alternative than to come in to the yearning of the people of his constituency.

The lawmaker added that people of his constituency are predominantly farmers, they know nothing but farming and  farming has been their business before now.

" So whatever I will do to my people, I have to assist farmers, that's why I decided to start with the palliatives of farming inputs.

Kaura said he has provided fertilizer of both NPK and Urea, Maize and Rice seeds, herbicides, insecticides, spraying machines, liquid fertilizer, and more are coming soon.

He stressed that the quantity of these farm inputs provided to farmers will go along way to improve production of farm produce despite the security challenges.

Senator Kaura, also promised to give 50m to some selected youths in his constituency to start business, and some would be given training on skill acquisition so that they can become self reliance

He also promised to empower women with cash, sewing machines, knitting machines grinding machines among others 

On the planned protest, the lawmaker said he will not advocate of protest but rather advocate for dialogue between the government and the aggrieved people who are planning to go on protest.

He cautioned the organisers of the planned protest to think twice and embrace dialogue as according to him "You may start a protest, but you will never know how it can end.
