Zamfara Government To Construct Islamic Theology School, Provide Welfare And Free Mixed Education

In an efforts to provide welfare and free mixed education, The Zamfara state government has said that It will look into the possibility of constructing an eSchool similar to Borno's Elkanemi's College Of Islamic Theology.

This was disclosed by Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Nafisa Muhammad Maradun during a visit to Maiduguri's Elkanamy Theology College, where 20 Orphans from Zamfara State are enrolled in a free educational support programme under the famous AbdulLateef Zabadne Orphans Foundation in the College. 

This was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau by the ministry's information officer, Suleman Isah.

During the visit, the Commissioner engaged with the students and expressed satisfaction on the manner the College's proprietor was running the free education programme.

"Please, we want you to be good ambassadors of our state and read hard to come out with flying colours so that the State would be proud of you, " Dr. Nafisa urged the children. 

The Commissioner pledged to let the State Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare know how well the Zamfara State students were being treated. 

The college's proprietor, Sheikh Muhammad Arif AbdulLateef Zabane who was represented by the Director of the College, Sheikh Zubairu Muhammad Wasagu, expressed gratitude to the Zamfara State Government for sending a high-level delegation to the college to check on the wellbeing of their children and encouraged other states that benefit from the gesture to borrow a leaf from Zamfara. 

The Director, pledged full collaboration and support to  the Zamfara State Theology College if constructed. 

He explained that the Elkanamy Theology College currently serves over 7,000 students from many states of the federation and reiterated the college 's commitment in providing free education, food, and other necessities to the Orphanage Foundation in the college. 

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Dr Habibu Yalwa and some Directors. 

During the visit, the delegation visited several major places in Borno State.
