GOV UBA SANI UNVEIL WOMEN, YOUTH PEACE SECURITY ACTION PLANS

 The Kaduna state governor, Malam Uba Sani  has unveiled the women peace and security action plan, and the youth peace security action plan documents for attributing the commitment of government towards achieving a sustainable peace building process.

 The governor, who represented by the Commissioner ministry of human services and social development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, at the commemoration of 2024 international  day peace, held at Kaduna state University (KASU) recently in Kaduna.

    The governor however said that,  "as we unveiled the women and youth plans today, its testimony that the current administration recognized the critical roles they plays in building and sustainable peace co- existence and unity purpose.

 He also acknowledged the challenges or barriers faced by women and girls in conflicts situation and reaffirmed the commitment towards protecting their rights and dignitaries.

  " As we commomerated the 2024 international peace day, we honor the significant step towards the collective pursuit for peace, justice, and equality, and the tireless efforts of individuals and organisation dedicated in promoting peace and security in the communities."

  The governor further explained that, "as strive peace, recognized the resilience of humanity in face of conflict and inequality, the power of diversity and shared aspirations for a better world and the importance of empathy, compassion, and inclusive dialogue.

 " let us celebrated our differences and promote cultural understanding, support peace builders, activist, and leaders working towards reconciliation process, while advocating policies that prioritize peace, justice and human rights."

 Earlier in addressed the executive vice Chairman, Kaduna State Peace Commission Sale B Momale has described the theme of this Year’s International Day of Peace "Cultivating a Culture of Peace" as perfectly resonates with us in Kaduna State.

  It is for this reason that a Consortium of thirty seven (37) organisations collaboratively organised this symposium. This is one of happiest moments in the recent history of the state.

  He also thanked the good people of Kaduna State for having faith in our unity in diversity; and for cooperating with each other, putting aside the unhealthy rhetoric of ethnic, religious and sectional discrimination. Royal Fathers, across the State for supporting the Government in the maintenance of law and order and management of intercommunity relations.

   "Our religious leaders, with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) serving as the key anchors in the promotion of peace."

   The executive vice Chairman, also appeals to all the peoples of Kaduna State to cultivate a value of peace, and to sow a seed of peace that will grow and radiate peace so that social harmony will be the tasty fruits of our daily lives.

  He further appeals to  electoral bodies, security agencies, political parties, candidates, support groups and the electorate to work together and ensure free, fair, credible and peaceful elections, in the incoming local government elections in the state.
