Zamfara State Marks One Year Without An Incident Of Polio Virus :- Dr Anka

The Zamfara State Commissioner Of Health, Dr, Aisha M Z Anka has disclosed that, Zamfara State has marked one year without an incidence of Polio outbreak in the state 

Dr, Aisha  made the announcement at a One-Day Town Hall Meeting on the Upcoming Integration Measles Vaccination Campaign in Gusau, stated that the success was the result of all stakeholders' collaborative efforts in routine immunisation.

She however thanked WHO, UNICEF, GAVI, and other NGOs for their support; stating that "without them, the state would be unable to accomplish this."

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Malam Bashir Surajo Gusau, further stated that the state government will do everything possible to eradicate polio and measles to 60% by the end of 2025.

She urged on stakeholders to work together to fulfil Governor Dauda Lawal's Health Sector Agenda.

State Coordinator WHO Dr Raji, stated that Zamfara State is one of the best  Nigeria's performing states. He pledged the WHO's support and urge the state to ensure all the targeted population are reached especially those in underserved area who are most vulnerable at risk of the disease to prevent outbreaks of measles in the state in 2025.
