Ex NUJ Presidential Candidate, Zonal VC, NAWOJ Endorse Abdulgafar, Santos To Restore The Union's Lost Glory.

Prominent figures and key stakeholders of the Nigerian Union of Journalists ( NUJ ) Kaduna state Council have endorsed  Abdulgafar   Alabelewe  and Santos  Gambo  Candidature for the  Kaduna   NUJ  election.

 Chairmanship and Secretary Election, citing their capacity, capability to restore the union?s lost glory and uphold the profession's ethics.

The key stakeholders stated this during the official launched of "#Rescue  Kaduna   NUJ " campaign at  NUJ  Secretariat, in  Kaduna .

They  however emphasized need for leaders who can promote inclusivity, competence, discipline, and respect for elders in the  notble  union.

  The Former  NUJ  Presidential Candidate,  Garba  Muhammad, described  Alabelewe  as the ideal leader to take the council forward.  noting  the current state of the  NUJ  Council as pathetic. 

" We need a leader who respects us and can restore the dignity of this council. On December 16, I will be here for the swearing-in of our new Chairman,  Abdulgafar , "  he declared.

  Also,  the NUJ  Zonal Vice President candidate, Comrade Yusuf Idris, praised the success of the campaign team and urged members to rally behind  Alabelewe.

  However the NAWOJ  Chairperson expressed confidence in the ticket, stating,  " Abdulgafar and Santos are our choice. Come Monday, December 16, we will celebrate their victory. " 

Other stakeholders echoed similar sentiments. Comrade  Iliyasu  Suleman, a former Chairmanship aspirant, said,  " they have proven to be the leader who can reunite us as a family and bring the change  Kaduna   NUJ  deserves. " 

Mr. Chimieze Onyocha, another key supporter, remarked,  " The product we sold to you three years ago has expired. A new landlord will take over on Monday, and this incoming leader will be sworn in during the day by a certified lawyer. Let?s work together to move  Kaduna   NUJ  forward. " 

Former  Kaduna   NUJ  Chairman,  Adamu  Yusuf, also aligned himself with the  Abdulgafar-Santos  team, saying,  " This is where I belong  and  I will put my best to ensure their emergence "

Alabelewe, the  frontrunner  in the  Kaduna   NUJ  Chairmanship race, reiterated his commitment to improve the welfare of journalists through training, inclusivity, and accountability.

"My leadership will be anchored on unity, transparency, efficiency, capability, and inclusiveness, irrespective of age, gender, or religion,"

"We will ensure our members no longer depend on roadside tea and yam sellers. Every professional journalist will have access to opportunities under my administration. " 

He further pledged financial transparency, referencing his record as the former Chairman of the Correspondents? Chapel. "You can hold me accountable for the council's finances at the end of my tenure. By God's grace, I will surpass the record of former Chairman Chief  Fadason , who left over one million  naira  in the  NUJ   Kaduna  coffers," he assured.

The Director-General of the  Gafar   Gambo  Santos Rescue team, Umar  Sarkin-Fada , expressed gratitude for the massive turnout of the campaign stressing that the overwhelming crowd has sent a clear message, "  he said.

As the December 16 election approaches,  Alabelewe  and Santos remain the favorites to lead transformative progress within the  Kaduna  NUJ  Council.
