Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have successfully repelled a terrorist attack on Yar Galadima village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The incident occurred in the early hours of December 1, 2024, when the troops of Forward Operating Base (FOB) Hanutara received a distress call from residents and vigilantes about the terrorist attack.

The troops swiftly responded to the call, providing assistance and restoring peace to the affected area. During the patrol, the troops encountered terrorists who had laid ambushes at two different locations on the approach to the village. The troops successfully cleared the ambush sites, neutralizing some of the terrorists while others fled.

The Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma provided close air support to the troops, engaging the fleeing terrorists and leading to the neutralization of scores of insurgents. This operation demonstrates the commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma to eliminating terrorist threats in the North West and Niger State.
