Zamfara Health Commissioner Visits Primary Health Care Centers, To Monitor Basic Health Care Provision Fund

Zamfara state Commissioner of Health Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun Today visited primary healthcare centers (PHCs) as part of the State Oversight Committee’s (SOC) efforts to monitor the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF).
Among the primary healthcare facilities she visited were the Tudun Wada Women and Children's Clinic (WCWC) in Gusau, the Shagari Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC), and the Gada Biyu PHC.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau by Suleiman Isah ANIPR Information Officer Ministry Of Health Zamfara State.
According to the statement, the Commissioner’s visit, is a key part of her mandate, aimed to supervise BHCPF facilities and ensure accountability in the utilization of capitation funds from the Zamfara Contributory Health Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA) and Direct Facility Financing (DFF) from the State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB).
She also sought to confirm adherence to BHCPF guidelines for enrolled individuals and verify the availability of drugs for basic healthcare enrollees.
Dr. Maradun expressed her gratitude to Governor Dauda Lawal for his support of the state’s health sector and called on residents to support the governor’s “Rescue Mission” agenda.
Malam Bashir In a remark, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Malam Bashir Sirajo emphasized that the Ministry will not tolerate absenteeism among healthcare workers.
He urged staff of the Ministry and its parastatals to consistently support government policies and programs.
Ashiru Muhammad, Officer in Charge of the Shagari PHC, thanked the commissioner and her team for the visit, pledging their support for her six-point agenda.
