New Executive Secretary Zamfara Electrification Agency Outlines Strategic Working Plans

The new executive secretary of Zamfara Electrification Agency honourable Muzammil Muhammad Idris has taken over the affairs of the agency.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after the taken over, the executive secretary said he has has already set up his strategic working plan which is in line with the Zamfara state governor Dauda Lawal rescue agenda.
According to him, Zamfara state electrification plan and implementation strategy, will be inline with ten years development plan which was initiated and implementing by Governor Dauda Lawal.
The executive secretary said, among his future strategic plans include giving electricity power to fourteen local government areas in the state within the first three months, and also to bring energy to some places that don't have electricity before now, adding that the agency will be doing electrification projects in several communities.
He however hinted that the focus of the new agency now is no longer what it used to, because the rural electrification board used to work along side with NEPA then, and PHCN.
"So now things have changed because this network infrastructure we use to connect and expand to other villages used to belong to government, but now it belongs to the private entity.
"Right now we are focusing on the renewable energy because the technology is in our favour, and we will use that to bring electricity and help people transition to a renewable energy within the state. He explained.
Muzammil further explained that, other plans include capacity building and restructuring of the agency, as according to him they will have a new structure completely for the agency to be inline with the mandate of the agency, and and also to be inline with the strategic goals of Governor Dauda Lawal.
The executive secretary, further explained that there is also a plan to have a capacity building for the staffs of the agency, and also human capital within the renewable energy space across the state.
" We also have a plan to train Zamfara youth on how to assemble and if possible manufacture appliances that are of renewable energy related, we will also increase the capacity of power generation, we hope to explore the potential of Bakolori Dam and other water bodies that we have in Kaura for mini hydro plant " He concluded.
