GOLFERS ASSOCIATION SALUTES COMMANDER TRADOC FOR HIS COMMITMENTS, HOSPITALITY

The Golf and Tour Charity Association of Nigeria (GTCAN)  paid courtesy visit to the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, to appreciate his commitment for hosting of 12th Series of the Association’s charity golf tournament holding at Minna Cantonment Golf Club (MCGC), in  Niger State.
 
The visit, led by the Executive Chairman of the Association, Air Vice Marshal Clement Aroriode  (Retired), was aimed at formally appreciating the usual support and hospitality of the Nigerian Army.

Speaking during the visit, AVM Aroriode  (Retired) noted that the Association was grateful to the Commander  TRADOC  NA for the tremendous support provided throughout the planning   process  of the  2025 tournament. 

He however described the event as a remarkable success, made possible by the enabling environment and logistical backing offered  by TRADOC NA under the  capable leadership of Commander TRADOC NA,  Maj Gen Aligbe.  

The Team Leader also added that they have started the unique gesture  twelve (12) years ago ,  separately in twelve (12) states of the federation.

AVM Aroriode further stated that the association decided to have the 2025 edition  of the  tournament  in Minna due to the strategic importance of Minna town and TRADOC. 
In his addressed the Commander TRADOC NA, Maj Gen Aligbe, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Association for choosing the Minna Cantonment Golf Club as the venue for the prestigious 12th Series. 
He however described the selection as an honour and pledged TRADOC NA’s continued support to the Association throughout the Tournament. 
Maj Gen Aligbe also took a moment to reflect on the roles played by some of the association’s executive members in shaping his early military career during his days as a cadet at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), as well as their mentorship in the field as officer of the NA which he is  enjoying till date.

 With its membership drawn from retired and serving military and para-military  officers, as well as civilian professionals, the association regularly organises charity golf tournaments to support community development projects and contribute to the welfare of military ,  para- military  and civilian  professional golfers' families and other vulnerable groups. He added.
Highlight of the visit were presentation of souvenir, signing of visitors' register as well as group photograph.
