Senator Yari Sets To Distribute 80 Trucks Of Assorted Fertilizer, 30 Trucks Of 50kg Of Rice To Zamfara People

Former governor of Zamfara state and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, Marafan Sokoto has provided 80 trucks of assorted fertilisers for distribution to farmers across Zamfara State under this year's wet season farming.

Similarly, the Senator has also donated 30 trucks of 50kg bags of rice to the needy in the State ahead of Eid- Kabeer festivity.

Speaking shortly after a meeting in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, chairman of the state distribution committee, Dr. Lawal M Liman Gabdon Kaura said it has been the practice of the Marafan Sokoto to accord such gesture annually to the farmers and the needy so as to assist them.

Dr. M Liman who doubled as the chairman of the governing board of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika Zaria, Kaduna state stated that while the rice will be distributed to beneficiaries free of charge across the State at 5 Persons per bag, the  fertilisers are to be sold to interested farmers at fifty percent discount.

According to him, A minimum of 6,000 Persons will be drawn from each of the 14 Local Government Areas of the State under the Rice distribution exercise and that will make about 84, 000 beneficiaries in all.

He therefore appealed to the beneficiaries of the two programs to sustain their good prayers to the donor as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR whom he said is doing everything humanly possible to improve their living standard and secure the future of Nigeria.
