2025 WORLD PEACE/ PRAYER DAY; CHRISTIAN, MUSLIM CLERICS RALLIES FOR PEACE

 As the world marks World Peace and Prayer Day on June 21st, 2025, Muslim and Christian clerics have vowed to embark on ceaseless prayers and fasting, calling on God to bring peace in the world.

 And end to the lingering conflicts between Iran and Israel, Russia and Ukraine, and the various crises plaguing parts of Africa—including banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism.

 The clerics however emphasized the urgent need to seek divine intervention through united spiritual efforts.

 They believe that prayer and fasting are powerful tools for restoring peace and stability across the globe.

  Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru made this call during the visit by a group of Muslim scholars at his residence in Kaduna.

“We must return to God,” Pastor Buru said. “We have offended God in many ways, and only through sincere prayers and fasting can we hope for an end to the growing insecurity affecting global peace.”

 He also called on all imams and pastors around the world to commit to ongoing prayer and fasting, stressing that God listens to genuine prayers from the heart—regardless of religion.

In his address, Imam Sani Musa from Kaduna said, "the purpose of the visit is to strength interfaith relations and foster unity.

 He emphasized the need for unity between Christians and Muslims and the power of collective prayer.

“It’s time to offer prayers for world peace,” Imam Musa said. “We must join hands and pray for our leaders and for unity in our country and the world. God listens to our sincere prayers.”

  He further explained that, the World Peace and Prayer Day encourages people in the world, faiths to unite in prayer for the well-being of the planet. 

" Its also a day to reflect on the sacredness of Mother Earth and to inspire young people to protect the environment."

 Many cultures refer to our planet as “Mother Earth,” recognizing her as the source of life and nurturing spirit that sustains all living beings. He added.
