The Zamfara State House of Assembly, under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt Hon Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, today, Thursday, August 28, 2025, officially swore in the newly elected Member representing Kaura Namoda South State Constituency, Hon Kamilu Saidu Kasuwar Daji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The swearing-in, which took place during plenary at the Assembly Complex in Gusau, followed the recent by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kaura Namoda South. The Speaker personally administered the oath of office in accordance with the Rules of the House.
In his remarks, Rt Hon Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki declared that the swearing-in of Hon Kamilu Kasuwar Daji further reaffirmed that there is only one legally recognized Zamfara State House of Assembly under his leadership. He stressed that the institution remains united, constitutional, and focused on its legislative duties despite attempts by some individuals to create divisions.
“The Zamfara State House of Assembly under my watch is one and indivisible. Today’s swearing-in is another testimony to that fact. We will not be distracted by factions or self-serving claims of parallel leadership. Our focus is to serve the people of Zamfara,” the Speaker said.
He further assured that the Assembly would continue to collaborate closely with the Executive arm, led by His Excellency, Governor Dauda Lawal, to ensure good governance, development, and security in the state.
In the same sitting, the House deliberated on a motion presented by Hon Halliru Abdullahi Kuturu, Member representing Zurmi East, calling on the State Government to consider the construction of a road linking Koluwar Riyojin Dankadau to Kaface in Mayasa/Kuturu Ward of Zurmi Local Government Area.
The statement was signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau by Bello Madaro Kurya, Press Secretary Zamfara State House Of Assembly.
