Zamfara APC Welcomes PDP Candidate In The Just Concluded Kaura Namoda South State Bye Election

The just concluded Kaura Namoda South State House of Assembly bye election which held on the 16th of September, 2025 where APC won with a landslide victory defeating the ruling PDP in the state may have come and gone but the filters towards the 2027 general elections are significant indications worth noticing.

This was again demonstrated by Hon. Muhammad Lawal Kurya Madaro, who was fielded by the ruling PDP in the state but was incontestibly defeated, leaving the PDP devastated and apportioning blames among themselves and their leaders.
Events have however taken a dramatic turn since then, culminating into what election pundits will describe as self realisation when the PDP candidate in the said election decided to join the APC having realised that the PDP is a failed political party. 

Declaring his loyalty to the APC at a crowded event organised by Hon Yazid Shehu Danfulani Project which held at the Taula Event Center, Gusau, a venue less than three kilometres from the Government House, Hon Muhammad Lawal Kurya Madaro said his exit from the PDP was informed by the lack of direction that characterised his former political party. 
He also pointed out that he realised that during the by-election, over 90 percent of the electorate, especially the youth, are APC supporters in spite of the fact that PDP was in charge. 

He assured to, along with his supporters work for the betterment and success of the APC in the state and beyond.

Receiving the new entrants led by Hon Kurya Madaro, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Hon Yusuf Idris Gusau expressed happiness over the development assuring that the APC will continue to be the party to beat in Zamfara State. 

The Publicity Secretary informed them that the APC would treat them equally with all other members without segregation and urged them to remain good citizens and law abiding to attract more members. 

Hon Yusuf used the occasion to thank the party leaders of the state especially former governors Bello Mohammed Matawalle now Minister of State for Defence and Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar now Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for their purposeful leadership.

He stated that APC is optimistic of reclaiming Zamfara come 2027 considering the acceptance and the unity of the party in the state. 

Idris further said many PDP leaders across board in the state will soon join APC as plans have already been concluded on the project. 

The official reception of  Muhammadu Lawal kurya, immediate past Secretary of Kaura Namoda local government into the APC was witnessed by the state welfare secretary, Hon. Bashir Idris Ataka his deputy Alh Shehu J Muhammad,  Special adviser to the Minister of State for Defence Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi Danmalikin Gidan Goga and the convener of Yazid Shehu Danfulani Project Mallam Abubakar Sadiq, among others.

Tsafe Development Forum Appeals For An Urgent Support To The Victims Of Bandits Attacks In Chediya Ward

Zamfara Health Ministry, Ministry Of Agriculture, WHO, Collaborate To Prevent Outbreak Of Anthrax In The State

Commissioner of Health Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun announced this during a stakeholder meeting today at the Public Health Emergency Operations Center (EOC).  Massive  sensitisation and Vaccination for anthrax has already started in Zamfara State, and we need to improve coverage and sensitization in the state,"Dr. Maradun said.
