ZMSG Treats 1.1M School -Aged Children Suffering From Bilharziasis

The  commissioner of Health, Dr, Nafisa Mohammed Maradun, made this known today at a press briefing held at the ministry's conference hall to mark this year's World Neglected Tropical Diseases NTDs. According to her, Zamfara State with support of their partner, Sight savers has also achieved in operating 200 patients with Hydrocele (Scrotal Swelling) accross the state for free in the effort to eliminate Elephantiasis. On Tuesday, the Department of State Services director in Zamfara displayed the intercepted weapons and ammunition to the governor at the government house in Gusau. A statement by the spokesperson for the Zamfara Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, disclosed that the intercepted weapons comprised a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG), Two Machine Guns, Nine AK47 rifles, Two Pistols, Nineteen Magazines, and more than a thousand live rounds of ammunition. Zamfara Partners With NHIA For Free Emergency Obstetrics Care

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  The Zamfara State Ministry of Health today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), to provide free Comprehensive Emergency Obstetrics care for pregnant women in the state. The NHIA coordinator Mr Mannir Sanusi  during a meeting iterated  that the intervention intends to reduce maternal and child mortality in the state.  Among the complications to be taken care of include pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, hemorrhage, prolonged labor, obstructed labor and Caesarian Section. UNICEF Confirms That Over 5 Million Children From Nigeria's Northwest, Northeast Are Suffering From Acute Malnutrition
