Zamfara Health Commissioner Pledges Support For Eye Care Project

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  Zamfara State Commissioner of Health Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun pledged the state government’s full support for the SEECLEAR PROJECT, an initiative aimed at improving eye healthcare services, during its inception meeting. The meeting, organized by Sightsavers, convened stakeholders from Sokoto, Zamfara, Kaduna and Plateau states. Dr. Maradun assured the Sightsavers team of the state government’s commitment to achieving and sustaining the project’s objectives. “This project comes at the right time, meeting the tight leadership at the state level,” Maradun said, referencing Gov. Federal High Court Halts Zamfara House Of Assembly To Sack APC Legislator

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  The Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State, has halted the purported illegal and conny manoeuvre by the state House of Assembly to sack the APC lawmaker representing Talata Mafara South Constituency in the Assembly. This followed a suit No FHC/GSCS/10/2025 filed by the aggrieved member, Hon Aliyu Ango Kagara against the Zamfara State House of Assembly, the Speaker of the House and the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) as first, second and third defendants respectively before the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim on the 19/2/2025 challenging his sack by the leadership of the assembly. Zamfara Law Maker Supports 3,290 Small Scale Traders, Pays Scholarship To 100 less privileged Students

Abduu-Malik Zubairu has today flagged off the distribution of N1.5billion financial grant small scale traders in the state. Flagging off empowerment support, at the weekend at Bungudu town, the Lawmaker reiterated his determination to improve the wellbeing of the electorate  According to him, the programme would cover over 3,290 small scale traders selected from 21 political wards of Maru and Bungudu local government areas. Under the arrangements, 100 persons were selected from each of the 21 political ward. The remaining balance of the figures were special allocations for Maru and Bungudu wards, sa well as poultry marketers among others. Samaila Muhammad Kongomi, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Zamfara State has  today called for accountability and performance based promotion and appointments in the health sector.  He made the appeal during the 14 Local Government Program Officers' Quarterly integrated Review Meeting on primary health care services, routine immunization, reproductive health and other related issues at the Command Guest Inn. By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  The Zamfara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Mustapha Sani has condoled and commiserated with directly affected families, Chairman and Emir of Kaura Namoda respectively over the lives lost to recent mysterious fire accident. It would be recalled, a fire outbreak engulfed the lives of 17 students while seventeen 17 others were rescued from the clutches of death, severely injured. The cause of the outbreak still remains a mystery though the NSCDC found some traces suspected to be the source, investigations are ongoing. At least 17 students have tragically lost their lives due to a fire at an Almajiri school in Kaura-Namoda LGA of the state. KEDCO Workers Embark On Indefinite Strike In Kaduna

By Gambo Abubakar Kaduna   The National Union of Electricity Employees, Kaduna state council  embarked on an indefite strike, protesting over alleged termination of 900 staff from Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company  The aggrieved workers, who carried placards with various inscriptions , blocked the entrance of the corporate headquarters of the Company and prevented workers and even customers from enter in into the premises. The aggrieved workers under the umbrella of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) accused the management of non payments of death and retirement benefits disregarding the condition of service.
