Zamfara Governor Visits Flood Ravaged Communities In Gummi LGA, Donates N100 Million And Relief Items

Heavy rainfall last week flooded some communities in the Gummi local government area, submerging many houses. A statement by the governor's spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said that Governor Lawal’s entourage began with a homage to the palace of the Emir of Gummi, His Royal Highness Justice Lawal Hassan. According to the statement, the governor toured Gummi town to express sympathy with the flooding victims before proceeding to Gayari town to assess the extent of the damage. Governor Lawal expressed deep concern after the assessment of the damage caused by the flooding. Philanthropist offers scholarship to 21 College of Health students in Zamfara

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  A Zamfara-based philanthropist, Abdulhafiz Umar Barau has offered scholarships to 21 students of Sahel College of Health Sciences and Advanced Studies, Gusau. The scholarship was offered to the beneficiaries through the AUG Foundation, an NGO being funded by the Philanthropist. Presenting the payment receipt to the beneficiaries in Gusau on Friday, an official of the foundation, Abdul Bala Gusau said the gesture was part of the foundation's commitment to assist in providing sound education in the state. Bala Gusau said: Today,  we disbursed a total of One Million and Fifty Thousands to 21 students in Sahel College of Health Sciences. "Each among the 21 students was paid N50,000. Gov, Lawal Flaggs Off Construction Of 11.65 KM Roads Linking Two Local Government Areas Of Zamfara

On Wednesday, the governor flagged off the construction of 11.65-kilometer-long roads in the towns of Rawayya, Furfuri, and Kurya Madaro in Bungudu and Kauran Namoda local government areas. A statement by the governor's spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, disclosed that Bauhaus Global Investment Nigeria Limited has been awarded the contract for the 11.65 KM road for 6.6 billion naira.
