Governor Dauda Flags Off Construction Of Gusau Township Roads.

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state has on Wednesday, flagged off the road construction of Gusau township to commence his Administration’s urban renewal project. Phase one of the urban renewal commenced with four road construction covering 3.5 kilometers, including junction improvements and drainage. A statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, said the flag-off ceremony was held at Gidan Sambo, opposite the Police Station, Gusau.  He explained that the road construction is part of what Governor Lawal had promised during the campaign; to build more roads, as well as modernize and maintain existing ones. Zamfara Gov't Launches Free Modified Medical Outreach

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau The Zamfara State Government has commenced a special modified medical outreach programme aimed at addressing critical healthcare needs and improving the quality of life of the people. The first phase of the medical outreach in collaboration with the office of the First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal is set to provide free medical services to people with cases that require cataract extraction, groin swellings (hernias, hydroceles), vesicovaginal fistula repairs (VVF), and health education. A statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, on Sunday, stated that the modified medical outreach which kickstarted last Friday has treated 81 cases of eye cataracts and 49 cases of groin swellings. He said the Zamfara Youth Sanitation Programme is aimed at creating job opportunities targeting the teeming youths of the State. The ladies appeared in a two-minute-19-second video clip released by bandits a few weeks ago, appealing to the Governor to help in facilitating their rescue. Phase one of the township project is a road network linking the Government House to the Bello Bara’u roundabout, Tankin Ruwa Road, the old market road, and the police station roundabout among others.
