NSCDC Zamfara State Commandant Monitors Ongoing 2024 UTME, CBT Examinations

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zamfara State Command, Commandant Sani Mustapha has expressed satisfactions in the conduct of the 2024 UTME CBT Exercise in the state. The State Commandant made this remark while monitoring the conduct of the Examination in Gusau and other centers where this examination is currently taking place. He said, prior to the take off of the this year's UTME CBT, has deployed sufficient personnel to various centers of the examination, to maintain adequate security throughout the periods of the examinations, in line with the Corps' Safe School initiative program.  The UTME CBT  exercise is being held in  seven centers across four Local Government Areas of the State. Commandant Sani Mustapha is optimistic that, the exercise will end peacefully in the State as he has made necessary arrangements to Checkmate infractions before, during and after the examinations.

CSOs Network appeals to Zamfara Govt. to establish mobile courts for GBV prosecution

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau The Network of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Zamfara has urged the state government to establish mobile courts for easy prosecution of GBV cases. Chairman of the network, Ahmad Hashim, made the call in Gusau at the quarterly meeting of the CSOs, organised by Voluntary Aid Initiative (VAI), an NGO based in the state. The meeting was supported by International Alert, an NGO funded by the UK Department for International Development to ensure promotion of stability, access to justice and accountability. The meeting had participants from NGOs, CSOs and Community Based Organisations (CBOs). Other participants were representatives from security agencies, Religious Bodies, Human Rights Commission and the media, among others.
