Theatre Commander Assesses Operational Readiness, Charges Task Force Brigade OPHK Responsibility To Sustain Vigilance

By Gambo Abubakar Kaduna The Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has charged troops of 29 Task Force  Brigade  to  avoid complacency and sustain an aggressive posture  against terrorists in their areas of operation . Maj Gen Abubakar gave the charge  during an operational assessment visit to 154 Task Force Battalion  at Ngamdu, 156 Task Force Battalion at Mainok, 273 Task Force Battalion  at Jakana, and 29 Task Force Brigade at  Benisheikh. The visit was aimed at appraising operational judicious  use of  Chief of Army Staff  (COAS) intervention, operational activities, assessing combat readiness and ensuring optimal utilization of platforms / equipment deployed in the theatre. DHQ, Committee OPHK Theatre Command Seeks Doctrinal Inputs, Telecom Firm Enhance Partnership

  By Gambo Abubakar Kaduna  The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Committee on the review of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s Joint Defence Doctrine visited Headquarters Theatre Command, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai  (OPHK), in Maiduguri. The four-man committee, led by Air Vice Marshal Mohammed  Isah, was at Theatre Command to interact with field commanders and officers as part of its nationwide engagement on the ongoing review of the Joint Defence Doctrine. Banditry Attack in Sokoro Forces Mass Displacement of Communities

During a joint assessment visit to the temporary settlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the 30 Houses Estate in Shagari town on Friday, 29th August 2025, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) met with community leaders from the affected areas. Among those consulted were Hakimin ‘Yan Dundaji, Malam Muhammad Bello Magaji, and Maigarin Tungar-Barke, Muhammadu Tudu, who confirmed that the attack, which occurred three days earlier, displaced residents of multiple villages. Zamfara Flags Off Oral Cholera Vaccination Campaign in Six LGAs

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  The Zamfara State Government has launched an oral cholera vaccination campaign in six Local Government Areas (LGAs) most affected by the recent outbreak. The exercise, officially flagged off by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nafisa Muhammad Maradun, is being conducted in collaboration with the Federal Government through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and other partners. According to Dr. Maradun, the campaign targets 878,162 people in Gusau, Bungudu, Zurmi, Anka, Talata Mafara, and Shinkafi LGAs, with 1,147,671 doses of oral cholera vaccine provided by NPHCDA. INEC Seeks Collaboration With Information Ministry On Success Of Voter Registration

B/Kebbi  The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Kebbi State, has solicited for support and cooperation of the Ministry of Information towards ensuring the success of the ongoing voter registration exercise.  The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abubakar Sarkin Pawa Dambo, made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi.  Sarkin Pawa, told the Commissioner that INEC, has already begun the exercise, starting with online registration.
