Zamfara factional Assembly dissolves House Committees, accuses them of financial misappropriation

  By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  The Zamfara State Factional House of Assembly has today announced the dissolution of all principal officers, and standing committees and appointed two sensitive committees to give the institution a better focus.  This was disclosed by the factional speaker,  Hon. Bashar Aliyu Gummi shortly after the House Plenary, which was held in Gusau,  the state capital. He said two standing committees,  that of Ethics and Priveleges as well as Works and Infrastructure, have been reconstituted to be chaired by Hon. Masama and Hon. Zamfara Gives Seasonal Malaria Treatment To 1.4M Children, 3.2M Insecticides Treated Nets In 2024

By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau  The Zamfara state Commissioner  Of Health Dr Nafisa Muhammad Maradun has said  that in the year 2023-2024, 3.2 million insecticide-treated nets were distributed with support from the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, achieving 98% utilization.  The Commissioner further explained that 1.5 million children under five received seasonal malaria chemoprevention in 2024. Dr, Nafisa made this known today at a Press Conference to mark this year's World Malaria Day, held at the conference hall of the Ministry. ACF Demands Federal Government To Resolve Enugu, Kogi States Boundary Dispute

Weekly Preaching:- Zamfara Directs Heads Of Parastatals To Write Attendance Of Workers

  By Aminu Abdullahi Gusau      Zamfara State Government has made attendance of weekly preaching being held at the Gusau Eid ground compulsory upon workers in the state to promote discipline,unity and spiritual awareness among them.  This was contained in a circular dated 28th March,2025 signed by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Yakubu Sani Haidara and sent to ministries, departments and agencies in the state.   According to the circular, staff whose leave are officially approved and those whose official duties are absolutely necessary are exempted.  With this development, the Office of the Head of Service will maintain a register to monitor attendance of Permanent Secretaries and heads of parastatals.    Similarly, the Head of Service has directed heads of parastatals to take attendance of their staff that attend the preaching and submit same to his office on weekly basis

HELDEF officials, led by Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Mamman Hassan and Executive Director Dr. Abubakar Danladi, visited the Emir on April 3, 2025, to seek his endorsement for the project. During the visit, the Emir was named a grand patron of HELDEF. He expressed his support for the project, emphasizing the importance of family planning. "The Emir commended HELDEF activities in the state and urged the organization to work hard to ensure successful outcome for the current project and expand beyond the state," a HELDEF statement said. The Emir reiterated his open-door policy and pledged continued support for HELDEF's activities, as well as the well-being of the state's citizens.
